Plantain syrup 130 gr Pharmacological group: Expectorant mean of herbal origin.

The medicinal form: Syrup.

Composition: Biologically active substances of 5,2 g leaves of Plantago major, 5,2 g mallow grass, 2,6 g mullein grass, 0,4 g ascorbic acid, 96 % ethanol, sorbic acid, sugar syrup.

Plants compounding in the preparation contains complex of biologically active substances: bitter glycoside (aucubin and etc.) flavonoids, tanning matters, carotene, ascorbic acid, poly and monosaccharides, mucous substances, saponin, alkaloid, coumarins.

Pharmacological operation: Plantago major has expectorant, antiinflamatory, softening operation on the mucous membrane. Strengthens blinking epithelium lashes movement of the mucous membrane and bronchial slime secretion, liquefies mokrost and promotes its separation. The syrup has tranquilizer, smooth muscle spasm removing, vessels widening, and light sedative operation. The sum of alkaloids existing in mullein with ganglion blocking and vessels widening action causes lowering of arterial pressure.

Indications:

·         Dry cough.

·         Coughing in smokers.

Contra-indications:

·         Hypersensitivity toward compound components or hydroxyzinum.

·         Diabetes mellitus.

Using rule and dosage: Peroraly, before eating.

For juveniles and for children above 12 years: 15 ml syrup 3-4 times  a day.

For сhildren from 1 to 3 years: 2.5 ml syrup 2-3 times a day.

For сhildren from 3 to 6 years: 5 ml syrup 2-3 times a day.

For сhildren from 6 to 12 years: 10 ml syrup 2-3 times a day.

(Indicated dose may be diluted in water).

Duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.

Side effects: Allergic reactions: itch, rash, nettle-rash, swollen; From the side of digestion system: nausea, heartburn

Overdose: Cases of overdose are not fixed.

Pregnancy and the period of a lactation: Preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation by the doctor’s prescription.

Interaction with other preparations: The drug is not recommended in conjunction with drugs that suppress the cough, as well as drugs that cause depression thinning phlegm.

Influence on cars and other vehicles: The preparation does not influence on driving cars and other vehicles.

Production form: Primary packing: 130 gram suryp in orange glass or polymeric material bottle. Secondary packing: The bottle is placed in a carton box with instruction.

In case of visual defects and expiry of validity date, the preparation can not be used.

Shelf Life:  2 years.

Storage conditions: Store at 15-25ºC, in a dark place and keep away from children.
